Raw materials and certifications

All IBC products are biodegradable and compostable according to the EU norm EN 13432. To guarantee conformity to this standard two certification organizations have been created.

• From the Belgian organization AIB VINCOTTE

-  Our Certification Number:  Ok Compost S142

• From the German national standardization organization DIN CERTCO, the Compostable seal

- Our Registration Number 7PO334

In constant development, worldwide bioplastics are analyzed and their characteristics applied to each of our products.

100% Biodegradable 100% Compostable. This bag is reusable/ made from renewable plant sources.

More information:

Products made with bioplastics maintain their physical and mechanical properties as long as they are stored in a dry place. As soon as they come in contact with organic materials they begin to break down and fulfil the EN13432 by being converted into compost within 3 months in a commercial composting unit.

Monomer: a small molecule able to bind with itself to create a polymer.

Polymers: macromolecules formed by the bonding of monomers

Important: “not all polymers are plastics but all plastics are polymers.”

Degradation: transformation of a complex substance into another, simpler, substance.

Biodegradation: the decomposition of products or substances back into natural elements through biological agents like the sun, water, bacteria, plants or animals. All substances are therefore biodegradable, the difference lies in the time the biological agenst take to completely convert said substances into the natural chemicals that make up the environment.

Compostable: the ability of materials after degradation and biodegradation to transform into compost.

Compost: raw material that acts as fertilizer in agricultural production or in enriching the soil.

Fragmentation: physical division of a material

Oxo: a plastic material with additives that allow it to degrade but not biodegrade.
